Re: How hard is your mobile?

I think I'll avoid the "rice test" but I've dropped my HTC magic a few times and it has scratched/dented the plastic around the screen. Still works perfectly fine and I can see no problems with the phone besides those cosmetic ones.

Worst time was the first though, it hit the ground hard enough to fling off the back cover along with the battery. Oops.

My Samsung U900 soul was very tough indeed, it fell out my pocket and then bounced down 3 flights of stairs onto a hard tiled floor ! I was very shocked to say the least that it was still working after that treatment.

My LG Viewty KU990 had to be the weakest phone I've ever had though, it fell out of my pocket at work and the screen smashed.

my htc touch 2 is surprising resilient to water. dropped it in the sink yesterday full of water. after it had dried out in a hour i tried switching it back on but the screen wouldn't light up. try it this morning and the phone is back to its normal self. there are a couple of dark patches on the screen but i'm incredibly surprised that a phone with all its electronic components can handle so much water and still work.

thankfully i've got phone insurance and am having a replacement sent out

My father-in-law regularly put different Nokia phones through the washng machine as he'd forget to take them out of his work pants...some survived after a night on the radiator, some didn't.

He got an iphone about 12 months ago and suddenly became much more careful.

Re: How hard is your mobile?

My little one has been using the neglected N95 I had as her 'toy' phone for a while. It's been bashed to high heaven with dints all over it and around the LCD screen.

I put the battery back in and its working fine - no damage at all to the internal parts or LCD screen

Not bad at all seeing it's been bouncing off the floor and stood on a few times.
