Sorry, HTC desire beaten them to it![]()
While I prefer the physical appearance of the Desire I find the Nexus One more enjoyable to use
1. It's so easy to root and install custom roms including the Desire rom
2. It's more reliable than my Desire, even when runniing a hacked Desire rom. Currently my Desire has an infuriating random reboot issue and 3G is not working as it should.
Yep I have both & a Hero & a Magic & an iPhone (I work for a large multi national mobile company)![]()
And yes like you I prefer the physical keys of the Desire but not the optical trackpad. At the moment I prefer the hacked Desire rom on the Nexus than the original on the Desire. Root on the Desire doesn't seem to give you that much atm, once I get may Desire back from repair then I'll probably root it espicially if some decent roms come out.
from repair?
True, I actually prefer the trackball on the N1, especially with different glowing colours for notifications.
But MoDaCo's didn't have reliable Bluetooth, which I need to connect to my car stereo, so bit of a deal breaker.
Hopefully we'll see some decent ROM's emerge over the next week or so.
I get this error as well. Only ever see it when I am out of range of a signal. Mainly on the train when going through a tunnel.
I just wait for the signal to come back and the error goes away.
Never had to reboot the phone etc.
Can't help but hate the lack of nipple on the Nexus One as compared to the HTC Desire. Played with those two and the Xperia X10 at a Voda store yesterday. Have to say I'm impressed with HTC's build quality. The Xperia felt like a lump of plastic that might snap at any moment.
Just a quick heads up for anyone considering an N1 on Vodafone: having had a good play with one in a VF shop earlier this week, it's not been Vodafone raped in any way. I don't even think it's provider or SIM locked as far as I'm aware (although I can't confirm, as the VF salesman wouldn't let me try me T-Mobile SIM in the phone!).
Also the Legend is coming to Voda very soon.
