    Virgin mobile contract, advice?

Well basically i bought the HD2 at the end of jan threw Virgin mobile, now before i purchased it I did check on their website regarding signal coverage and all was perfect (mostly) almost everything in my postcode was covered by 3G so i thought ill go ahead with buying it to see how good VM has come (it used to be crap and so did T-Mobile).

For the first 2 months the signal has been great, 3G all around my house except for the cellar only got normal G(i dont expect signal here as its underground!), at sixth form i only found a few dead spots but the majority was 3G and a couple of spots G or HSPA(or what ever it is). Work and everything also was pretty good. Call quality and reliability was also good, when at the country side i got good signal which i wasnt expecting and everyone could hear me clearly.

Now after this it all goes down hill, it seems randomly that the signal quality has severely declined where now in my house i only have a couple of spots where i get G (low signal strength aswell) and the rest is no signal at all, outside in my garden is also very poor I constantly see my device struggling to get 1 bar in G (most of the time it has no signal, the rest it gets 1 or 2 bars). Signal at school is also down to G and is also low signal strength and intermittent, also of places outside also have dead spots now and are weak signals. Everywhere I go I can only hope to get HSPA (this is faster than G right?) or G, after 2 months its been getting worse and worse, ive only managed to achieve a strong 3G signal twice in a month!. Im sorry but advertising a network with good 3g coverage and yet i had to travel to town to get it rarely!.

I did call up awhile ago as i had to sort out canceling my insurance on the 3rd month of my contract, i did ask the operator about this and he said they have been having issues with this area recently and now it has been fixed, total bull**** if you ask me!. I checked the coverage map after calling them and it had changed where as 2G was 2 bars (out of5) and now 3G was 0!.

Now i checked again and the signal is 3 for 2G and the same for 3G yet im not getting any of this? There are no "dead" spots near my house according to this anymore but yet i struggle to get a signal!.

My main question is what do i do? Can i cancel my contract because of this? I can hardly use the internet as the signal is so weak thus very poor speeds and it drops alot resulting in time outs and also when calling people i get disconnected as the signal will cut out and alot of the time the caller cant even hear me half the time!. Another thing is ive sent like double the amount of texts because it fails to send so i keep trying to send texts to get to the actual person >.<.

so far its caused so much stress for me because now i cant just pickup my phone make a phone call or just reply to a text because i look at my signal and i got " Ah feck no signal must move" and then when i get signal it tends to die just as i send it .

    Re: Virgin mobile contract, advice?

It will be difficult to cancel now especially since most contracts are about paying off the price of the phone. Also Virgin uses the T-Mobile network so you don't know how much control they have over reception. You could try to pushing them to get a further response considering that the reception was previously good. Maybe there are some works going on in that area.

And it seems that some people have had to go to extremes over this:
