    Damn you T-Mobile. Damn you.

The ear piece in my Touch Diamond 2 is dead so I have to use hands free to make calls.

I barely get a signal when visiting my better half.

I had decided to ditch T-Mobile and go to Vodafone with a new contract and get a Desire. Unfortunitely when I called T-Mobile to cancel my contract they persuaded me to stay with them

Apparently my account is at the highest rating possible, not sure I believe them, but I can understand why that would be (~£1,000 of roaming calls in a year will do that kind of thing). So they were reluctant for me to leave.

It would have been £164 to cancel my contract up until November, £90 of that I was going to make back on Quidco from Vodafone, so not bad, I can just call that the handset cost when rationalising it. However I've ended up with 18 months on T-Mobile, unlimited free land line calls, "unlimited" internet, 1,200 minutes and 500 texts for £30/month plus a free Desire.

The signal issue he said would get sorted out as their system was saying "Excellent" coverage for EH37 area once the Orange and T-Mobile networks were merged, starting 1st July.

The desire is in short supply right now, but he thinks between a 7 and 14 days for delivery. Might get it before I go on holiday, but if not will have to collect it when I get home.

They told me the same thing about the desire last Thursday and that I would have a 2 - 3 week wait. It landed today so 5 days on Battery is poor on it but they all are when you get them, will take a while for it to settle down.

    Welcome to the Desire Club

I'm sort of on T-Mobile myself as they provide the backbone for Virgin and I got very similar to your contract, apart from more texts and another 100 minutes for £25 a month. I've been told that my Desire ROM is the t-mobile one as well.

So far, 3 months into my contract I've not had 1 call drop with bad signal or any delayed SMS messages which I was plagued with on O2. I've also noticed that the call audio quality is 100% better, but I reckon that's down to the handset

Re: Damn you T-Mobile. Damn you.

Other than the usual signal problems in some areas, I've not had a problem with their network in the 2 1/2 years I've been with them.

Well, actually, recently I have had a couple of problems where I can't find a network at all despite a restart on the phone, I've put that down to network maintenance because of the Orange merger though. Officially they start merging on the 1st, but I guess some work has begun already. But It's been so infrequent that I can remember exactly when and where the problem occurred.

5 Days you say Grey M@a? That sounds pretty good then

It's strange going from G1 with Android 1.6 to Android 2.1. Everything has changed xD The usual suspects are there but a shed load more in the options now.

I was slightly hesitant because I wanted to make sure 2.2 would be made available for the Desire, but I think there would be enough of an Internet s**t storm if they didn't make the upgrade available for me not to worry too much about it

    New sig quote I think.

You knows it makes sense. The best bit I didnt have to say too much, just plant those ideas in your head, and let it all start eating away at you.
