The longest I've done with my Nexus One is 25 hours and then I put it on charge around 20%.
If I was home for 2 days, on WiFi I think I could make it last 48 hours, but I've not tested this yet.

Depends what functions you have on, mine will last for 3 days but if you have weather/location/facebook updates checking all the time then this will kill your battery
This is normal functionality. I'm not asking what it 'could' do. I'm asking what you 'do' do
Quite often these things come down to 'turn this off, turn that off' and people end up crippling their phone to make it last longer.
I think it's good to know what you can do to make it last if you end up caught away from a charger for a long time. For me I turn off my connection and it doubles whatever battery I have left, 3G or 2G even kill my battery.
Well mine lasts 3 days, its auto syncs my contacts that have facebook's status/profile picture every 2 hours, it checks the location/weather every hour, it checks 2 email accounts every 15 minutes, wireless is off in standby but otherwise connects to either work or home, it gets used for about 30/45 minutes a day for music and about 20 minutes or so for youtube vids to keep the kids quiet in the car sometimes.
HTC Touch Diamond 2
On a normal work day, I unplug mine from the mains at about 8:30 and back in about midnight or so.
Bluetooth is on and connected to either my car or earpiece most of the day, Microsoft Direct Push is enabled for full Exchange sync, weather also updates regularly. I make between an hour and two hours of calls most days, plus a hand full of texts and some facebooking.
It's usually down to about one bar of power when I go to bed.
I'm on for a personal best today, 34 hours after charging and I'm at 23% on my Nexus One.
To be honest, if I had WiFi at work, I think I could last 40 hours every time.
Yeah, there's the benefit of smaller screens :-/
My desire on normal use lasts just about 2 days. I have various widgets and email etc updating every hour and use WiFi st home and only turn 3g on when I need to use it rather than letting it automatically come on. Easily controlled with toggle widgets.

NOTHING TO BE SEE HERE, MOVE ALONG PLEASE....
:: of all the things i've lost i miss my mind the most ::
If its just being used for sending and receiving occasional calls, txts, and push email on, quick internet site checks I get 3 days out of my touch diamond 2.
I would love to know how I can stop my data connection from taking so much battery. Maybe it's Orange's fault? Maybe their signal is weak so it's swapping about? Even though it's Central London...
I get about a day and a half on my Desire. Thats weather, email and RSS updating every 30 mins. I also do about an hours browsing on it whilst at work as well as 30 mins music. Also send about 200 texts a day and few hours of calls.
Thats with a 2.1 custom rom. Latest radio too. Find i get best battery life when im getting HSDPA.
Another thing that will drain a battery fairly quick is constantly searching for WiFi signals. I have started turning off WiFi except when I am at home, or somewhere else where I know there is a signal that I plan to use, and I have seen a big increase in battery life.
