Chinese iPod gadget aims to skin Apple

Invented by a 22-year-old programmer who lives in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, the gadget is comprised of a case that fits around the outside of Apple's iPod Touch, a popular media player and Wi-Fi-enabled pocket computer with e-mail, maps and other applications.

Nifty bit of kit, but no doubt Apple will try and put the cosh on it asap.

I read about this last week, and was quite interested until I got to the (lack of) 3G part. It's the only thing that I absolutely needs that my 2G doesn't provide.

This thing is freaking COOL! I would not get one, because yes I need 3G as well, but good on him! 22 and developing such a mind blowing attachment to an iTouch.

That is impressive, I didn't think such a thing was possible. I think his business will taking off soon with him coming up with gadgets like that. That could be of interest to me if it ever goes on sale as I don't really use 3G (I don't have an internet package, just PAYG).

i bet its dirt cheap to get one there but should it make its way through the bay channels then it would be overly expensive which would not be ideal anymore

This sounds like a very interesting device but many people complain about failing rate of chinese electronics like there mobile phones etc.
