    Nokia PC Suite

I have recently bought a Nokia 2700 phone and am trying to mate it with Nokia's PC Suite on my laptop. Having eventually found a Micro USB cable - Nokia don't appear to sell them in Australia - I can't get the phone and the laptop to talk to each other through the suite; the laptop recognises the phone and can see the SD card on it, but I can't back up my contacts this way. Anyone got any ideas? By the way I have no problem with the link up between my Nokia 3600 and the laptop and I have tried 2 different Micro USB cables.

    Re: Nokia PC Suite

Did you let the OS install all the relevant drivers for the phone first? Ie, plug the phone in (try a different port) and wait until all the drivers are successfully installed, then restart, then plug in again, then open the PC suite and run the wizard. I managed to get the my install into a bit of a fit once, and after uninstalling everything and doing the above, it was fine. I think its because it was trying to install drivers for the phone whilst I was attempting to sync it to PC suite.

Hope that might help, otherwise I'm out of ideas.

    Re: Nokia PC Suite

Nokia PC Suite has been superseded by Ovi Suite.

    Can be got here http://support.ovi.com/index.php?id=...a66&lang=en_GB

Uninstall PC Suite first then install Ovi suite and see if it works for you.

    Re: Nokia PC Suite

Personally, I prefer the layout and usage of PC suite - despite it containing what looked like a lot of separate apps, it always seemed to be more stable and intuitive, but then I guess I probably used early versions.

Did you give my initial suggestion a shot? if not then def try ovi suite, you might like it better too!

    Re: Nokia PC Suite

    Hi Jonathan,

I have tried the uninstall/reinstall scenario, but to no avail! Will try the Ovi suite method and let you know

    Re: Nokia PC Suite

Hi Guys! Success!! Installed Ovi Suite and it was a breeze. I suspect that the version of PC Suite I had didn't have the correct drivers. I have to say that I've not found the Nokia site or their software very user friendly. Thanks for your advice.
