    Android music players

Hi peeps, just a quick android music player question. I store my media files on a home NAS (Readynas), is there a way of accessing these files remotely for playback? Preference would be streamed rather than downloaded, I currently have a bunch accessed via dropbox but they have to be downloaded to the phone before playback.

    Cheers

    Re: Android music players

I have recently got Audiogalaxy working on my Android phone and it works really well for me. I install the app on the machine I have my tunes on (work pc) and then install the app on the phone and away you go it streams the tunes for you (admittedly it took a while for the PC app to add the songs to the library)

    Simon

Edit: Though not sure if you can get it working with a NAS

    Re: Android music players

Allshare may need a DLNA or one of the other streaming standards

I used it with a home server and it worked ok, seems to work of any network shared media drive but can't guarantee much more than that I'm afraid (and it was built in to my Galaxy S)

    Re: Android music players

I have something called Andromote on my HTC, it seems to pick up music libraries on my network quite happily and play them. simple interface: choose your media server > choose the programme to play it with and done. Might take a look at allshare though.
