    Android on a HD2

So, I have finally got Android working on my HD2 and it's a fantastic OS, using MDJ FroYo Sense Revolution v.1.6 with the 2.12.50.02_2 Radio. It's working great with the exception of data. Every now and then it just won't connect, web pages half load, youtube videos stop half way through, the market will just not load any more apps etc. Getting quite frustrating.

Decided to try Facebook on it today and it just will not download anything although it accepts my account and password details and seems to connect.

Can anyone using Android on a HD2 please advise what Radio you are using as I'm sure this must be the problem. I don't think I read anywhere stating which Radio to use, except it must be a 2.##.50.## Radio.

    Cheers.

P.S. Am pretty sure this is an OK subject for this forum, have seen other posts relating to Android on non-Android phones and since it's open source I don't think there's anything illegal about it.

    Re: Android on a HD2

Its not specific to the device so there will always be bugs, for instance someone has tried to send me a pic over MMS, Its saying its 25k on the Android side yet WM says its 400kb, Android just says that there is a generic network error and wont download it..

Is there any benefits over win mo? I hate texting on my phone atm (Rom 3.14 stock) because it is very slow and laggy which means it constantly puts in wrong words and no spaces etc etc. I

put it this way - even if you have the odd teething issue running Android on an HD2 its still orders of magnitude better than running WM6.5 I'm saying that as a user of WM for 6 years !

If you really wanna get into it, http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki...?title=HTC_HD2 would be a good start.

If you want an easy way to do it, I'll try get some better links as sometimes it's not easily explained on the XDA Devs wiki/forum.

Hit the nail right on the head. Even with my pretty intrusive data network problems, it's still miles better then WM and I will not go back (except to reboot the phone and run Android again).

    Re: Android on a HD2

Finally bit the bullet and tried android out on my HD2. So far so good, the phone is far more responsive than under WinMo.

Build I'm using is MCCM SE V3.4:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841644

Does anyone know whether the audio lag issue goes away with Android, debating whether to convert any more videos with a profile that adjusts for this or whether I can leave it now and everything plays as it should on Android.

    Thanks.

As far as I can tell, camera seems fixed as there's no green tint on the shots I've tried.

As for battery life, will find out tomorrow if it lasts the day.

    Re: Android on a HD2

    Update:

Full charge this morning, down to about 30-40% (4/10 bars left), this is with light usage: sent some mails and texts, bit of surfing, few calls and about an hour on Copilot (sat nav).

Settings: Wifi off, BT off, GPS (locations) on, Autosync and background data on.

Pretty good in my opinion, would say it's about on par with Winmo, has been stable all day no issues so far.
