Re: ~£150 Andriod phone ?
I almost bought a Desire on O2: £20 x 18mths not sure whether it is still available.
Then after lots of research, etc I bought a San Fran this morning for £78.99 and will PAC my SIM to giffgaff
Will wait for dual core smarphones to come out Q1 or Q2 2011.
From what I 've read this phone at this price is a steal.

Re: ~£150 Andriod phone ?
If you want to just give it a try, I paid about £100 for my LG GT540. Touchscreen isn't great (it's the cheaper of resistive and the other one) and it's low res, but build quality is good - dropped it several times and no damage whatsoever. It's not great - slow and all the rest of it, but for a budget android I'm pretty happy.
Will of course upgrade to HTC once I have a bit more money.

Hahaaa, err no.
Updates are device specific and there is no guarantee that any phone will get an upgrade from its shipped ROM. But plenty of phones are getting updates from sites like modaco and xda dev. Because of this I wouldn't spend a lot on a Android phone (hence getting a san fran), but having a cheap phone on payg I am happy to use custom ROMS. One thing to bare in mind is that you'll need a data and calls package, so going contract over 18 months, can cost a similar amount to PAYG. The giffgaff sims are worth a look for payg, but are obviously useless if you cant get usable reception.
Re: ~£150 Andriod phone ?
Do you reckon looking over some contracts would be better then? In terms of both the phone i could possibly get as well as calls/text/data over cost ?
Re: ~£150 Andriod phone ?
just bag the orange one it will last you fine and can be unlocked for free via the modaco sticky in the blade forum.
