Re: Upcoming Android Phones?
I'm seriously considering the Motorola Atrix with it's media dock when it gets launched. The only problems I see are design (Motorola often build phones that feel like bricks) and issues with Tegra 2 struggling to play H264 media (even at 720p)

Wow, just had a look at that phone, very impressive stuff to say the least I just hope its popular so that prices go down eventually.
Re: Upcoming Android Phones?
I love the idea of the Atrix, but would rather see an HTC version of it. Not convinced about Motorola's support structure.
Re: Upcoming Android Phones?
Wouldn't it be extremely costly to buy a dock for every corner of the house? Don't you think Motorola is trying to capitalize on that fact? LOL
Now if the phone can wirelessly detect itself being in different areas, that would be revolutionary!
Re: Upcoming Android Phones?
why would you buy a dock for every corner of the house?
If that's what you wanted to do then surely that would be cheaper than a distinct device with the capabilities of this handset in each corner of the house would be more expensive?
Re: Upcoming Android Phones?
Get the HTC Desire HD, you won't regret it! I've had the phone a couple of weeks and love it!
Re: Upcoming Android Phones?
There's also the LG Optimus 2X coming out soon.
Re: Upcoming Android Phones?
A few potentials on the horizon:
Sony Arc (although track record with X10 updates is not good)
LG Optimus black
LG 2X (as noted above)
And I would guess HTC must have something up their sleeves, which involves the next gen Snapdragon chip MSM8660

It just seemed like that was what they were advertising on a YouTube commercial I saw

I guess the point is you could do that, just like you could put an iPod dock in every room and carry your music from room to room. But then if you are going to do that, there are other and perhaps better ways to accomplish the same thing.

Don't you find it too big, I mean 4.3 inches is too much I feel,

if your like me and you have bigger hands the extra size is useful
Re: Upcoming Android Phones?
I dont have massive hands tbh but I dont find the size that much of an issue even with my Otterbox case on it, given the very noticable difference in screen size between the other halfs iPhone4 the size between her phone and mine isnt that much..

I'd steer clear of the Arc - it's only really an evolution of the X10 (which is what I've got that the moment - good phone, crap support from SE). SE just don't seem to "get" the idea of Android and are trying to run 'droid phone like dumb ones - how many folks can afford to replace their phone each year?! (Assuming you can find a reasonably priced 12 month contract).
The devices that interest me most are the (already mentioned) LG 2X and Motorola Artix. Motorola had a terrible reputation for software support, but according to the US tech press they seemed to have woken up now and are really trying to do better. LG I don't know much about, I assume that they're similar to Samsung for support (i.e. patchy). Hardware specs on both devices look pretty darn good, and are better than the Arc, which I figure will probably cost a similar amount SIM-free (Expansys).
Could be an interesting 2011 ... ;)

Yeah manufacturer support isn't the greatest, according to this:

HTC seems to be best at rolling out updates the most and quickest.
