Listening to Music on Orange San Fran

    Hi,

I find that the music occasionally stutters when listening to tracks on my orange san francisco. The music is on an class 4 microsd card. What is likely to be the problem? Do I need a faster card or a better app?

    thanks for your help.

No sure exactly what this would be, it will probably take a bit of experimenting to find out. You could try restarting your phone before you play music, this may fix the issue if it is struggling for memory.

Try loading a few tracks onto the internal memory, its unlikely to be the memory card but it's easy enough to test.

Do you do anything else while listening to music that could be using processing power?

It might be worth tying another app, I've heard Meridian Player has quite low overheads.

possibly a better app, and most are free so its worth having ap lay. Two that spring to mind are doubletwist and winamp. I use winamp as its easy to shift music netween the pc and sanfrancisco, and I havent had any stuttering playback with it.

This^. The stock apps for media are quite frankly shocking.

CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Thanks Guys. I've tried Winamp but have still had some stuttering. I've found that rebooting the phone helps, but switching off wireless made it a lot better.

That's the best suggestion yet. Had a quick read and it seems easy enough. I will give Jap Jellyfish a go.

I installed a 2.2 ROM and it has made a massive difference to the phone. The music plays fine and the phone on a whole is much more responsive. Thanks again.

Re: Listening to Music on Orange San Fran

I've had no problems on 2.2, though I'm mostly streaming not playing from SD.

Japanese Jellyfish RLS9 has a bug where contacts don't show unless they're from Google... I couldn't get it to show local contacts which makes it unusable for me (for example, add a contact and it just disappears, but the phone uses it when they ring you). I'm on FLB Froyo G2 r9b, and that works fine.
