    Question DIY micro sim?

Does anyone of you know whether it works if just cut a normal sim card and make it into a micro sim to use in my iPad? My mobile phone provider says I can’t…

    Re: DIY micro sim?

I`ve seen guides on the net that show you its possible to do it.

The only reason it not work is if the ipad is network locked.

http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/ipho...-sim-49306016/ there are lots of other guides out there as well

    Re: DIY micro sim?

yup you can - its pretty easy too. My advice is to cut little bits off until it fits in the sim tray, otherwise its easy to cut too much off. Try it with an old sim first too - practice is worth it

It works fine, I've done a couple and they've both worked.

    Re: DIY micro sim?

Done one before, I used a micro sim as a template so I knew where to cut. Worked fine. Just make sure when you are cutting you get most of the gold bits. Use a very sharp stanley knife, or get a proper cutter tool.

    Re: DIY micro sim?

Don't you get little cutting templates specifically for this on ebay or similar?

I'm sure I read about them somewhere, but I might be making that up.
