In what way does it not support flash? Honeycomb tablets support full Flash 10.3...
As for "loading adverts"... well that is a minor price to pay to get any video content, flash menu content, even flash game content I like..... The point is, I have the choice! If I want to disable adverts or flash I can, If however I want to use flash I don't have a company telling me what I can and can't view...
Notifications on the iPad / iPhone are farcical to say the least and clearly in need of an overhaul. Notifications on Honeycomb are however absolutely fantastic and very well implemented.
*sigh*... I thought this thread was going to move away from "iPad does this or that"...
Re: Finally got an Asus EeePad Transformer
Wrong thread, I was thinking of the tablet Jim bought... lol!

Its poor, but not a joke.
And yes, your iPhone is clearly faulty. They don't crash like that, you're lying :)

Sadly skyfire doesn't solve everything: it won't play a lot of the iplayer stuff due to license restrictions (it streams via their American servers which the BBC won't serve a lot of content to) and some websites (I'm looking at YOU, 4OD) javascript all their stuff so the Flash videos don't even appear on the page if you don't flash installed (which means no Time Team on the eTouch :().
Love to hear more about the productivity on the Transformer though Bunj - what's the office suite like? My eTouch came with OfficeSuite Pro, but when I edited my CV in it then saved it as a docx it mangled the formatting and completely screwed the document (which almost certainly lost me a shot at one job I applied for recently *before* discovering the problem...). Since my etouch isn't compatible with Google Docs I'm in the market for a new productivity app...
How many posts before CAT quotes this and adds a picture of Bumblebee / Optimus Prime?

The Transformer comes with Polaris Office which is especially optimised for Honeycomb and has a fantastic interface. I have only used it a bit but it seems to handle any of my excel spreadsheets from work happily and was able to open the presentation I tried quite happily, complete with animations and videos. The only thing that stumped me a bit is copying a URL from the android browser to the Polaris word editor didn't seem to work, not sure if I was doing something wrong or need to enable something?!
Alternatives are Documents to Go, ThinkFree Office and Quick Office.
Ben
Re: Finally got an Asus EeePad Transformer
Hadn't heard of ThinkFree before: I'll have a look at that. I have Google Docs on my phone, which is OKish but nothing special. Apparently my tablet isn't compatible with Google Docs for some reason... :O_o1:
EDIT: Hmmmm, is ThinkFree worth £10? A 24h trial isn't really enough time to know if an office product is suitable, is it? *sigh*
Re: Finally got an Asus EeePad Transformer
I'm a latecomer to this thread, reading the entries started to get quite hot under the collar there...
Goodness me some people seem quite upset for no apparent reason.
Anywho, i'm very keen on either the Asus Eee pad, or Apple's iPad (i'm not trolling! LOL) and having read the Anandtech article I wondered Bunjiweb if your impression is that it doesnt feel 'finished' in terms of Android 3.0, or whether you feel that in day-to-day use you feel it is lacking in any way (ie not compared to other devices that might use x y or z, but just in terms of itself).
Thanks
