I had a good play around with one and it really is a snappy tablet. I know it runs Android 2.3 but it seems fine and the size seems ideal. OTH,it is quite expensive and Archos G9 8" tablet looks a decent alternative:

I've not used sense enough to have an opinion on it tbh, my last HTC was the magic which didn't have any custom interface. I'm still playing with LGs custom skin on the Opti 2x, which has some features I really like but might be a bit too fussy for my taste.
I wanted the Creative ZiiO 7" to be a good tablet, because it's got a 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU which should make it fly, but the one I played with in carphone warehouse this week just plain didn't work, which was very disappointing. Also had a decent play with the Flyer and just plain love it, but I can't even nearly afford one (hence the reason I was so keen for the ZiiO to be half decent ;) ).
The G9 80 is definitely one to watch, if it can come in at £200 I'd be sorely tempted - I'm a big fan of 3:4 ratio screens for reading on, and if it gets full Android Market then all the better. I had a quick prod at the Archos 7 Media Tablet this week too and it *felt* like a low spec tablet with a resistive screen, tbh ... maybe even a little worse than my etouch was. That said, the relatively good response and decent performance of the etouch (a 1GHz ARM11 design) made up for the buld quality, which I'm not overly inclined to fuss about anyway (I have no problem with things looking & feeling budget on the outside as long as they're up to the job I ask of them), so an 8" 4:3 aspect ratio tablet could tick pretty much all the buttons for me... I look forward to getting a play with a retail G9 80 in a month or so :D
Get the iPad 2 :)
Got an iPad2, so far really impressed with it, so much so infact its not even been out of the box and is currently back on ebay due to a timewaster...
Taste is a personal thing as has been covered in this thread, for my personal use the ipad just wasnt good enough, hell even the other half said she prefered the Xoom over an iPad, granted I didnt tell her the ipad was in the boot of the car at the time otherwise she'd of wanted to play with it but still...

I've read the Nvidia SoC article and am really wondering whether the transformer would be a good purchase now or to wait a couple months for quad core version, which is no real issue.
As people who've got these devices, how have you found office type software as although the "play" side of them is a nice spin off, I really need mine to be for mobile office use. The TF seems to fit the bill with a proper keyboard that I don't have to use.
The missus has an Acer 8371 and although I like the portability and power that it offers, it's a little more than I really need for most of my use and is a little bulky for carrying in my work bag next to the work laptop. Similarly the work laptop while useful when at different locations is not the speediest to load due to all the rubbish that is installed and tbh is a little large for comfortable use on the train etc. I also want something that I can check personal email on and run my out of office activities, which I don't want work IT looking into.
Is there any other tablet that I should be looking into atm?
Oh and as an after thought, no I won't consider Apple.
