    if nothing else, this starts to make apple look like patent pirates. the last paragraph is interesting

    If Apple does decide to play hard ball and squeeze out rivals rather than set up cross-licenses, the source said, it's entirely possible that a court could find it in the public interest to scrap the patent rather than allow a monopoly on what has become a defining interface for an entire category of consumer devices
    could that not apply to a broad range of hardware in most of today's smart/touch phones?

    And this is why the American patent system is so ridiculous!...this should be thrown out on anti-trust violation alone. Yet another reason why I will never buy an Apple product.

    Wow... I remember Apple first sued HTC for using their patented technology... is that case still up in the air?
