this is just a workphone (the nokia they have supplied is panties)

I suspect he does not want to be using his better phone at work.

i have a separate number for work, they provided me a phone but i don't like using it for e-mail and end up ignoring e-mails and forgetting stuff. I like to be able to turn it off at a weekend or on days off.

I had a walk into carphone warehouse today and they have some cracking deals! X10 mini was like £80 and X8 was about the same. There was an LG of some sort there but im not sure if its the same one.

The Defy is a good phone if you're working in a harsh environment.

As long as the air conditioning is working my environment is usually fine ^^ just server rooms and control rooms mainly

The LG has more RAM than both the Xperia phones you looked at.

The sonys do look a bit nicer and they are said to have decent batterys though!

The Xperia phones have under 200MB of RAM and the Optimus One is meant to have 512MB.

I do remember they had the original wildfire in there for about £100 which also struck me as quite good.

Hi All,

Im trying to find a cheap android phone which has a bit of a community following with regards to roms. Hoping to spend downwards of £100 as this is just a workphone (the nokia they have supplied is panties) I have looked at the wildfire S but its a but over my budget, a couple of the ZTEs look ok and so do the some of the lower end galaxies.

It needs to be vodaphone but im happy to unlock a non-vodaphone one.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Maybe ZTE Blade ?

An update - i just put a reservation down on this

LC Optimus One

£60 with £10 top up then another£5-10 to unlock still brings it under 80 so im happy

Will let you know how i get on

Edit: its only reserved so give me a shout if there is a deal ihave missed... resistive screen on this thing may sway me against it during the course of the day!

Looks reasonable. A 600MHz ARM11 CPU isn't the fastest, but it's probably the best you're going to get at that price, tbh.

Only thing to be aware of is that it won't support Flash player - as long as that's not a deal breaker for you you should be OK.
