Android - Hotmail app

What do you guys use to check your hotmail emails on your android phone?

The gmail checking app is brilliant and id love one for my hotmail account. Is there a good app or way of doing it? I hate having to go via the browser…!

k9 app will do it.

depends how long you have had your hotmail account as newish ones need a premium account to get it other ways.

I set my account up several years ago, but have been struggling to link it to Gmail. I don't suppose anyone can let me know the settings they are using? There are several different reports of what to use on the internet!

i gave up with using my hotmail directly, instead i setup forwarding from the hotmail to a new gmail account, so much easier to manage and gives an extra level of spam

From within Gmail (online, not the app on the phone);

Settings > Accounts and Import

Under the "Check mail using POP3" section click "Add POP3 email account"

Email address - you@hotmail.com/co.uk
Password - <yourpassword>
POP Server - pop3.live.com
Port: 995

Label incoming messages: <something to distinguish hotmail from gmail>

You'll get a hotmail email from Gmail with a code to verify and that's it, done.

Thanks for this! Just set it up in K9 which I was using anyway - for some reason I didn't think it would work so never tried.
