Tracking Software for iPhone

I remember reading articles of people installing apps onto their iPhones and if it gets stolen, you report it and the phone gets tracked etc etc.

Does anyone have an recommendation for the latest app for this type of thing?

Is there an iOS equivalent to Lookout? You can use that to track your Android phone if it's stolen...

I wouldn't rely on this to get your phone back if it's stolen, the GPS poisition isn't always accurate and it's very easily turned off in the phones settings. It's great if you lose the phone or if you want to erase/lock the handset in the eventuality it does get stolen.

I understand that you want to have stealth on your own phone if its lost, but with all the hacking stuff regarding mobiles lately etc etc whats to stop a GF putting this onto her BF phone and tracking his movements on a ight out ?

If you've got those issues of trust in a relationship, being tracked might not be your biggest problem.

Anyway, you'd need to provide your Apple ID password during the set up process.

And then also provide it again when logging into the site or the App to track it.

I am not sure as to the legality of it all, but there is a reason why when people discovered that Apple was storing everyone's gps data in a file that logged their movements for weeks, they promptly released an iso update to erase that cache.

I am talking from a B2B point of view, but I am also interested that one of my clients who I know has all off his iPhones in his wife's name could unwillingly be breaching some law.

For WP7, if you log in on the browser it gives you the location of the phone, you can lock it, ring it or erase it. All works very nicely, too.
