I see the logic, but, i think that £200 saved is going to come back round when you have a tablet whose software doesnt keep up with the times. The ipad itself is only marginally the best tablet out there, but the software selection is miles ahead, ive had a blast dredging through all the App threads trying out all the recommended apps and found a lot of gold.
Anyway, i could burn a lot of calories convincing people its the way to go. Its a bit like phones before the iPhone, your yearly upgrade didnt really matter, you take your sim card and contacts across and to the next phone and then use the new phone's features, no sweat. If the App Store wasnt around, it probably would be a bright idea to get the bargain Touchpad for its out-of-the-box features, but now the software is much more important than the device it runs on.
