    HTC sensation car mode problem

I have a problem that whenever I use the HTC locations "premium navigation" application, my phone switches into some sort of car mode.
One of the things the car mode does is make the phone have the speaker switched on when you answer a call. That would be fine if I was using it in a car, but is a bit weird if I'm using it for walking directions.

But the problem is that I can't get the phone to switch back to normal mode again. The only solution is to reboot.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have any idea how to stop this from happening?

Use google maps when you're walking, HTC Locations when you're driving?

Re: HTC sensation car mode problem

The problem I'm trying to fix is that the phone will not come out of car mode once I have fired up Locations. Even doing a force stop on Locations has no effect on the car mode.

My only solution at the moment is a reboot. Not exactly user-friendly...

Re: HTC sensation car mode problem

i had a similar problem on my desire - general consensus was:

the usb contacts were dirty which "tricked" the device into thinking it was in a car dock.

its a bug in your rom (which i had on a few of them..)

i dont know what that HTC's software is but if is GPS then just use MAPS by google?

Re: HTC sensation car mode problem

This is a software bug. It happens precisely when the locations software is used.

I do use google maps, but its navigation leaves quite a lot to be desired e.g. not knowing that roads are blocked to road traffic, or telling yo to turn right on no right turn signs. Also it is hard to make any modifications to the route, and whilst it tells you about traffic problems it doesn't dynamically change your route if conditions change after the route plan is made at the beginning. It also doesn't have speed trap information, nor tell you the current speed limit (which isn't always as clear as it should be on various roads in the UK at least).
