    Re: What phone to get?

Yup, and three weeks after that arrives the Samsung latest superphone offering....followed shortly by LG, then etc blah blah.........then two months later HTC dumps a 1.7 dual core with interchangeable lenses and built in pie warmer.

    See where I'm going?

Buy the best you can afford now and be happy. Don't wait for the 'next big thing' because there's always a 'next big thing' just around the corner. I guarantee if you wait for that, you'll be gutted within two months of buying it.

    Re: What phone to get?

If your happy with your current phone keep it anr keep it up to date with custom firmware. Depending on your usage switch to cheap tariff and save a load of cash. Have a look at whats around in thre months time and think about it then.

    Re: What phone to get?

I would wait a month or two until the iPhone 5 is released. There should be some phones released by other companies to counter this. Then you can get one of the slightly older dual core phones cheaper.

    Re: What phone to get?

My wife just had her free upgrade from O2 and very generously gave it to me Sony Xperia Arc, my first ever smartphone. Yes, I'm a dinosaur

I've had it 2 days and love it already, I never realised "apps" could be so good !

Best of all, Im on Tesco 10 quid a month SIM only plan (500mins, unlimited txt & internet) and the little budder worked straight off, no unlocking

I can recommend this phone for what it's worth - but I am only a phonenoob !
    Cheers, David

    Careful with the fine print.

Tesco Mobile £10 per month SIM-only plan includes zero data. For an extra £7.50, they give you 1GB/month. http://phone-shop.tesco.com/tesco-mobile/sims/

I think he meant that if you wait for "the next big thing", two months (or so) later, the next "next big thing" will have arrived - and if only you had waited... Etc etc.

The current Tesco tariff doesn't give that. Few months back, the old £10 tariff gave it

    Re: What phone to get?

I worry about the battery life on HTC phones. Admittedly my Samsung Galaxy S II isn't as wonderful as it could be in terms of the battery life - what high-end phone is these days? - but Sense UI appears to be quite demanding.
