Then get the Orange San Francisco?? It has a better screen than the other cheaper phones and is as faster and costs less too.

Here are some reviews of the phone:

    http://www.trustedreviews.com/Orange...e-Phone_review

    http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pho...-901915/review

The newer ones use a TFT screen but this still blows any other similarly price phone out of the water. It has an 800X480 display which is far better than the crappy 480X320 ones found in the Samsung Galaxy Ace,HTC Desire S and HTC Salsa.

TBH,why don't you get this phone instead:

It costs under £8 and will probably have better battery life than almost every smartphone.

It costs around £125 to £170 secondhand on Ebay and was introduced in 2009. You need to factor in the cost of a new battery too especially if you get one which is nearly two years old. On top of this you have no warranty and if you buy one from Ebay you could get one which is stolen and is blacklisted.

TBH,save up some more cash and you can get some decent phones in the £150 to £200 price range. With newer models being released this year you can slightly older models for a decent price:

You can get the Huawei U8800 SIM free for £174. This has a second generation Snapdragon SOC(the HTC HD2 and Desire use the first generation version) which has a faster GPU:

I got an LG optimus 7 from amazon.de (only downside is that it came with a european charger which I have converted to uk). It was ~£160 including UPS 2 day delivery and it's quality. Mango is out in a couple of days (apparently) and it's the best phone out there for the money, especially considering it's brand new vs pre owned.

    Cost pm - £10.42 , Quidco - £40
    Effective cost pm = £7.70pm

What I am thinking of doing is sticking with the HD2 for now and then wait a couple of months and jump ship. iPhone 4S will be released then and some of Samsung's current phones like the Galaxy will come down in price due to their new range which just came out - the Magical, Young, Wonder range!

£135?? Bah!! Worn out battery and no warranty=fail. The better phones will still be around £180 to £230,and I suspect the Samsung Galaxy 2 will probably still be around £300. The Galaxy S is still around £300.

When you get rid of the HD2 it will lose you money especially with better NEW phones available in a similar price range.

You might as well get something like the following:

    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lg-o...xpansys/998060

It is currently around £280 but in a few weeks it probably be around £250. It will be fine for the next few years.

The iPhone 4S is and instant fail too(it probably will sell well though). When iOS 6 is released next year it will start feeling like a pretty brick. For instance look at the 3GS. When the iPhone 4 was released in June 2010,iOS 4 was also released. The 3GS was released in June 2009. With iOS 4 the 3GS is sluggish.

The best thing is for you to go on a contract which has a nice phone.

For example £8/month for 24 months is £192. Add another £150 to £200 for a phone and you are looking at around £342 to £392.

That is around £14 to £16 a month for a 24 month contract.

CAT, I am OK to spend money on parts but for a phone, no way will I spend that much!

I was just trying to show you that if you can get a contract for a few quid more you can end up with a decent phone. You need to add the up front cost of the phone plus the contract cost over 18 to 24 months. It might work out cheaper if you get a decent phone free on a £15 contract.

Half the country has been after that one like the TouchPad. However,it is going to be harder to get as very few companies are selling them and if they reduce the price the rush will be worse than for the TouchPad.

    CAT, I don't believe it!

The HTC HD2 I rcvd today got pressure damage on screen.
T-mobile don't have the Galaxy Ace in stock anymore and offering the crappy Wildfire ( No, not Wildfire S )

and ... I am back to Square One! :@

mobiles.co.uk are offering a deal that works out cheaper by cash redemption ( the one right at the bottom ). What do you think ?

I don't know about the redemption deals. Some people have had no issues at all and others loads of issues. You do have to be on the ball with sending back the statements AFAIK.
