Look for an Xperia X10 with Android 2.3. At 2.1 it's plenty responsive, with 2.3 expect it to have even better overall performance. Even a year on many handsets still do not look as slick as it. They can be had for as little as £90 on ebay.

I've been offered a very good condition HTC Desire for £120.

There is the Samsung Galaxy S for around £18/month for two years:

    http://www.e2save.com/mobile-phone/c...ode=EK184FEB11

You are essentially paying £8 a month extra for the phone. You can get £30 cashback too:

    http://www.topcashback.co.uk/e2save/

However,T-Mobile does £121 cashback for new contracts:

    http://www.topcashback.co.uk/tmobile/

You can get an LG Optimus Black or Motorola Defy for around £20/month:

    http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/pay-m...optimus-black/

    http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/pay-m...motorola-defy/

£121 cashback would effectively mean that the contract is around £15/month.

Re: Looking for a new £100 or abouts phone

I can say that the X10 is not responsive on 2.1. My wife has one and was always complaining that it doesn't do what she wants. In between complaining that I don't do what she wants. Now she's on 2.3, she complains a lot less. About the phone...

Just a heads up that the Motorola Defy is being replaced in september with the Defy+ so the Defy may fall in price then.

The late model Defy is essential the same phone as the Defy+ and you can get 2.3.4. ROMs for it:
