    iOS5 discussion thread

A thread dedicated to the upcoming iOS5, share comments, views, ask questions and discuss rumours.

With an iPhone 4 this is something I'm looking forward to a lot and can't wait to be given a concrete release date.
The notification centre is my most wanted feature, the overall view seems to be that it's a massive improvement over the current notification system. The hardware shutter button for the camera also seems to be a brilliant and much needed idea.

I'm going to buy another iPhone just for this I think... there are going to be some awesome features coming... location reminders, computer indipendance... the seemingly incredible siri. It looks to be a success, looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say about it.

    Re: iOS5 discussion thread

It's still telling me I'm on the latest version. Do ya reckon this could be due to me already having iOS5 GM installed?

Can anyone that's updated to iOS5 let me know what build version they're running? Mine's saying 9A334

    Re: iOS5 discussion thread

I'd imagine if you're on GM then yes it won't update you.

downloaded and trying to install, had 2 errors and it crapped out, trying again & will see what happens.

    Re: iOS5 discussion thread

Got it sorted out now.. Seemed that I didn't even need to, the files are identical. Same build versions, same file sizes (to the kb) and every feature is exactly the same (afaik).

    Re: iOS5 discussion thread

Well, seems the 3200 error might be Apple servers buckling (although the download was pretty damn fast)

Saurik says its failing 50% of the time, I'm currently 6 for 6 so he might want to recalculate that!

EDIT: Yay, USB driver prompt popped up meaning I passed the server activation part, spangly new stuff here I come

    I will miss SBSettings though
