    Re: New Galaxy Nexus

This is a fantastic phone. I have one on the way (free of charge).

However, the iPhone 4S does not 'suck', I'm not sure why you've made yourself look stupid by saying that.

I'm constantly getting notifications about low memory on my Desire, I can't really install any apps that can't be moved to SD, or Gmail won't update and get new email.

The Galaxy Nexus looks great, but as I'll have any new handset for at least 18 months, I don't want to get something that is almost the ultimate handset.

    Re: New Galaxy Nexus

i was going to get something like that but since my desire broke they repaced it with a desire S, i have 700 odd MB of onboard storage which is plenty. Think il just get a sim only contract and stick with this until it starts to piss me off.

    Re: New Galaxy Nexus

The Asus Padfone (if rumours are true) is shaping up to be a pretty great looking phone - a tegra quadcore based handset I can turn into a tablet? Yes please

Much as I want to love the Galaxy Nexus, there are just too many negative points - pentile screen (though that can be overlooked in favour of resolution), choice of omap cpu, poor graphics chip (with greater real estate to render), no micro-sd card (what are we now, apple??), 16gb storage that cant be accessed as usb mass storage

The only plus points I can see are a notification light (YAY!!! My favourite part of my old Nexus One), screen res and Ice Cream Sandwich... and even ICS is a curse in diguise, as tons of apps dont work with it yet..

Why they didnt put the internals from the GS2 or Galaxy Note inside is beyond me... The galaxy nexus handset, with 720p screen, 1.5ghz Exynos + gpu, and sdxc micro sd - that I'd have bought in a heartbeat

But that includes wiping my phone, not going to do that right now.

When I do upgrade to something new, I'll root and reflash the desire then use it for my work phone. I now want a larger screen for use as a sat nav in the van, no amount of flashing is going to change that aspect of the desire

... anything solid on the Zeta? engadget are saying it was just a concept rather than something HTC are working on...

I'm currently in a quandary of whether to pickup the nexus or wait (indefinately?) for the SGS3 or similar phone to come out that addresses the weaknesses of the GN.

My current phone is dire but £500 for a not-quite-ultimate phone is a lot... the SGSII is £370 or so but it's 7 months old and only real upside to the GN is the better GPU.

    Decisions decisions...
