    "what has been using the battery"

    Phone: HTC Wildfire S
    Software: 2.3.3 Android
    2.1 HTC Sense

    When i go to 'what has been using the battery" on my mates phone, it gives a useful breakdown of what's been draining battery.

    On MY phone, all it says is:
    Dialer: 96%
    Cell Standy: 2%
    Wi-Fi: 2%
    Phone Idle: 2%

    Notice that this:
    a) tells me nothing
    b) adds up to 102%!!

    What are my options for getting this to work properly? My battery has gone from all day useful to 8 hours useful life, really wanna know what's going wrong. Will rooting it help, or can i reinstall the OS?

    Cheers, shbris

    lots of google hits on this, its the current rom.

    In the Android settings, under Sound, change your current profile to "Normal"

    Then in that same screen, under the Incoming Calls section, un-tick the following:

    * Quiet ring on pickup
    * Pocket Mode
    * Flip for Speaker

    Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack
    off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.
