It's hardly innovative for Apple to copy the notifications system in Android. QUOTE]

You mean the notification system that Android (google) copied from HTC manilla/Sense Appeared in there years before Android hit the market - and Apple's implementation is much closer to the HTC manilla/sense version than the android one.

Thanks I wasn't aware of that. Still doesn't make any more innovative and if anything HTC should be aggrieved about this.

    Re: HTC Lose Apple Case...

Apologies i wrote when i was very tired.,i went off a whim that i was told ages ago it was announced before lol i cant check sources while half asleep... i will put my hand up and say sorry for that comment it was inappropriate.

However after looking there is a key thing, ok Apple officially announced their phone before, 10 days was it? but LG "leaked" theirs in december, and its all very well announcing a device but if its not out before its not the first.... Prada was released feb 2007 and the iphone was released at the end of june 07.

Theres also the fact it was shown off at iF Design Award 2007 and won their award(had to be submitted by September 06 you see), however apple didnt show theirs? so i guess you could take that as being "official" announcement from LG a year before

Its possible you can argue that it was to close together that they couldnt have copied from one another but you cant say the Iphone has made this market/device generic looks, LG were the first to release it and thus everyone followed . I was mainly against your sweeping statement that says touch phones were useless before apple when they werent, can you use your capacitive based phone (if you have one?) in the winter with massive gloves on? no, resistive can though and its pretty damn good... ive had both resistive and capacitive and theres not much in it really!

Instead of wasting your time and energy ranting about Apple (which isn't going to get you anywhere anyway), try directing that anger towards the manufacturers who insisit on mimicking Apple as closely as possible, or just get over whatever issue you think you have with Apple and buy the product you actually really want.
so your saying a company should be able to patent anything they like. Like the shape of an iphone yeah apple have used that one saying the galaxy has rounded corners like an iphone jeez you can buy a coffee table with rounded edges.

Apple today are doing what intelo did before and microsoft did before them, a company gets so big that instead of just competing on an open field they try to bully the smaller comapnies out of existence.

    Re: HTC Lose Apple Case...

I think that people are being rather unfair on Apple here. Yes, Apple aren't the most lovely company in the world, but let's look at a few facts -

Apple pretty much launched the modern smartphone market themselves, nobody wanted or cared about phones even slightly until the iPhone came along. It was amazing.

Samsung, a huge global corporation, directly copied the design of the iPhone 3G/S for the original Galaxy S. That was just absolutely ridiculous. Apple have every right to be mad.

Apple then launch the modern tablet market entirely by themselves, all other manufactures scramble to release rival tablets (and fail in the process). Samsung then release the Tab 10.1 and revise it, just after the iPad 2 launch, so it looks more like the iPad 2...

I think many of you are just being deliberately obtuse in your hate for Apple. Yes, there are bound to be similarities, but it's obvious that people are copying Apple. Painfully so.
