    iPhone 4 issues

Hey guys, just a quick one (I hope)

I broke my iPhone so got a new one through my insurance last friday, however it has a few problems...

So far everyday this week I have woken to my iPhone 4 completely dead not turning on. (I have to do the force start thing - home + hold for 10 secs to get it on). All it does is sit over night on the side of my bed and sound my alarm to get up. However, it sounds one alarm, i press snooze...half hour later i wake up. No second alarm nothing...grab my phone...dead o_O.

Today however, it didn't even make it to its first alarm!!

Another thing is if I shake it it sounds as if the vibrating motor (or something in that vicinity) is loose, could these be an issue thats causeing my problems?

Whats my best course of action? Apple or Insurers?

    Thanks all

    Re: iPhone 4 issues

If you can show the problem on demand, and you have an Apple store anywhere nearby, I'd take it to them and show them the problem..

The "home" button stopped working properly on my iPhone 4, after about 6 months, so I took it to an Apple store and they gave me a brand new one within an hour, with all my previous stuff transferred onto the new phone.

    Good luck

I have heard that Apple are quite good at replacing phones, but I don't know where I stand with this not being my original phone I purchased.

I'm pretty sure I can leave it dead one morning and take a trip to Apple.

It seems to die dead at 7:30 every morning...

Have you tried setting the alarm a minute or two ahead of the current time and waiting for it to go off to see if it is the alarm that is causing it to die

No but that could be a good idea. I'll try it out after work. Thanks

    Small update.

Had the alarms turned off over xmas. Phone was fine. Turned them on again today. Woke up to a crashed phone that once again would not turn on.

    So, Apple or Insurance?

This sounds more like a software issue. Have you not simply tried restoring your phone through iTunes?

    Re: iPhone 4 issues

No my laptop has issues with Apple and refuses to update any products. It downloads updates then says error and wipes it out when I try an install.

The only way I can do it is back it up and go into the apple shop, so I have made an appointment at the genius bar for saturday.

Not necessarily - it can sometimes hang. Just hold down the home button and the button at the top until it restarts
