    SGS Clock Wrong

    alright guys,

interesting one this. the time on my sgs has gone haywire. the last known accurate time was when the missus rang us this morning just before 12 as the time was recorded and calls since are recorded as with an earlier time. sometime shortly after that it decided to reset the clock which is now 11hrs out of kilter.

i have done a soft reset, and a factory reset (for which i need to re-install stuff now) but the issue still persists...................gonna be a pain as it doubles as my alarm clock.

anyone any ideas as whats causing this and a possible remedy as it's become a pita already.

    cheers.

did you somehow accidentally change your time zone?

If the phone is set to take it's time zone information from the network it could also be a network fault and not a fault with the phone itself.

In either case you can manually set it to the correct time in the date and time section of the settings if you need to.

defo set to gmt with auto carrier signal, but no issues I've heard of. even a hard reset hasn't sorted it.

If for some reason the carriers data has been changed so their system thinks the time is different then no amount of resets of your phone will make it display right until they realize and fix it at their end because each time you reset your phone it just pulls the incorrect data again.

Since your time zone is correct and you are set to carrier signal then I would hazard a guess that it is out of your hands for now so I would suggest you just manually set the clock and check if auto is working again in a couple of days.

If after a couple of days setting it back to auto still causes it to go wrong then I would contact the provider

this happened to me before, its rather annoying, just set it manually and leave it like that for a few days then try again.
