The stock browser was (and is still) just called Browser and had little to do with chrome. Safe bet that this is probably going to be the default on the next version of android and beyond

I've been really enjoying using Opera on Android.

Can't get Chrome on my SGSII yet though.

There are ways to get ICS now if you root your phone, been using it for about a month and it's very nice. Have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1055

The new tab syncing between desktop and mobile chrome is very slick.

I know it's only 4.0 at the minute, but does anyone know if it will end up on other versions of android?

    Re: Chrome for android

Very impressed so far, page rendering is faster than the stock browser and some features of page interaction are very handy, on of the most notable includes a feature when if you press a link that is in a cluster of other links it will bring up a magnification box to allow you to be more precise with your choice.

The Chrome sync functionality is handy too, I use Chrome as my desktop browser so all my bookmarks on my phone is great.

Tabs work well and it seems fairly light on resources. I recommend this to anyone who can get it.

I'm running it on my rooted Nexus S on ICS 4.0.3

    Re: Chrome for android

Been using this now for a day instead of my regular browser (Dolphin HD) on my Htc Desire HD, and so far it does seem faster than both stock and Dolphin browsers, had a couple visual errors but I am using a custom ICS rom based on ASOP / Cyangoen 9, plus this Chrome is beta too.
