Good Apps for android - time based settings?

My new Galaxy Nexus arrives later on today and I want to get it up and running as quickly as possible (see: ignoring girlfriend all evening).

An app that i have always wanted is one that automatically sets my phone to loud, vibrate, silent etc based on the time of day. For example when I am at home, I want it to be on silent (i dont like being interrupted ) however when I am at work I want it to be on loud etc.

Does anyone know of a good app that does this?

Any other useful/nifty apps please let me know. I am a sucker for useful stuff that looks cool

    Tasker - https://market.android.com/details?i....taskerm&hl=en

It costs money but you can do some really clever things with it. You can trigger events using many inputs for example, you could enable silent mode when at work, or disable wifi when leaving the house.

+1 for Tasker. Amazing app. Bit of a learning curve, but google what you want to do with it and you'll find someone else that has blogged about it. Probably :-)

I use it to disable the annoying notification on my Samsung GS2 when the battery is 100% charged. I often leave my phone charging overnight and don't want to be woken up at 4am just because my battery is charged (you can't disable the notification on the GS2 - thanks Samsung!)

Like Raz316 said, I was also going to use Tasker to turn off WiFi during my commute to/from work but haven't gotten round to it yet (probably never will TBH!)

+1 for tasker. You can set it to work on your gps location not just time. So if you have a day off then you don't have to worry about resetting the volume.

Re: Good Apps for android - time based settings?

dumped timerrific, also tried and dropped tasker as its way OTT for the average user.

just found profile scheduler, after a few days i have stumped up the £2 for the paid version (unpaids got limited whitelist and other restrictions with an add banner)

so far i have found it great to set night mode, whitelist allows important people to call anytime such as close family as you want then to be able to break the silent mode, each mode can have various whitelist members allowed.

also location based rules, i have told it to switch to home mode when wifi connects to my home access point but set the priority to allow night mode to click in over home mode detection so it still turns the volume off at 10pm. i think its very good to detect certain access points or cell phone masts by there registration number, well worth a play with the free version if your after something like this.
