Updating Sensation to ICS

Hi,

I'm fed up with waiting for HTC to get their bottoms in gear and release ICS for my Sensation. As it's unlocked, can I just download a ROM from say, xda and put it on without having to Root?

yes but it will need to be s-off and if its network locked then cid changed

all you need is clockword mod recovery (CWM) installed, S-off isnt needed

install rom through cwm and thats it... i believe

What you could do is just grab a stock HTC rom RUU/EXE file

To install a custom ICS Rom for the phone you would need to root the device first

I've not received anything on my Sensation XE yet, cant wait now...!

No, I haven't either. I'm downloading the latest ROM from someone on XDA, might install it if the OTA doesn't come by tonight...

Got my update for my HTC Sensation XE last night, its pretty good, much smoother operation and I like the data usage monitor, face unlock is a little dodgy but all in all a good update.

Same for me, as I said in the other thread the GPU acceleration makes a huge difference.
