    Nokia Lumia 710, £199, bargain?

    Hello,
I've noticed that 3 and 02 are doing the cheaper lumia for what seems like a good price, just wondering if anyone has anything to say for or against it?
iphones and android haven't interested me but WP7 looks like something I might get on with, especially as i'm already quite integrated in to the whole live/hotmail thing.

The battery life concerns me a little, although I would be able to keep a spare in the car or something like that.

Also a bit concerned that there will be much better windows phones to come, but could be waiting around for quite a long time for that.

Or you could just go into a Vodafone store and get one for £160... £150 if you're already a Vodafone customer.

Could be unlocked if you're lucky (though I actually think it should be).

Don't see why the battery life concerns you? All 'smartphones' don't have great battery life these days. My 710 easily lasts well over a day off a full charge and that includes having Wi-fi on in the house, data on when out and about, auto screen brightness, email pushed, bit of Facebook and Twitter, some gaming, news browsing etc.

For the price you really can't go wrong. I was going to get an Android phone but at the price point there wasn't really anything grabbing my attention. If you want a phone that is literally going to work out of the box then this is a great buy to be honest. As for new phones there will be a new flagship Nokia coming out in a couple of months but that's going to be a lot more expensive.

It also uses micro-sims so you'll need to either get one from your network or cut your existing one down.

I got a locked Lumia 800, from T-Mobile for £20pcm with £40 upfront. This was in Novemember, I'm sure if you give them a squeeze, they will do you a good deal.

One of the benefits of WP7 in my mind, wearing both my electronic engineer hat, and software dev hat, is that you don't need £500 of hardware to run it smoothly, play games, browse web etc.

Only some of the games really benefit from having the 1.5ghz lumia 800 speed, for everything else the slower speeds are just fine.

If you can negotiate a deal for the 800, take it for the better screen etc.

If not its a capable phone, but with a very small memory when compared with say the HTC Radar which is often cropping up on deals at the same price.

If I'm not too late (which I probably am).. it might be worth having a look at this HTC Radar on Amazon for £200.99 at the moment.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/HTC-Radar-Fr...3128965&sr=8-1

I have seen it go down to £198.99 with free delivery from Amazon themselves though, so if you're in the waiting game, it might be worth holding on.
