So who has a spare WP7.5 device?

I'm still on the lookout for the perfect mobile device for me.

Too often, the three minutes you spend with a device in the shop aren't enough to form a proper opinion.

Now I want to be able to form a proper opinion about WP7, without committing myself to a 24-month contract.

Does anyone have a WP7.5 device I could borrow for a week? See how well it fits my workflow, in the car, for work email, etc?

Seems a co-worker just bought an 800, so I can likely borrow his long enough to do the required testing

Re: So who has a spare WP7.5 device?

Lumia 800 is a great device, but remember the phone companies have, how shall we say, an attractive markup, if you haggle you will get it for half the £449 list price, my guess is the list price exists only to please the phone operators so they can say "oh your getting 50% off" or "mwahaha you paid full price2.

The iPhone is too damned expensive for them, and the margins are so low on the Android devices due to the tremendous hardware requirements they seem to elicit!

My complaint about the Lumia 800, an ex threw mine at a wall in a fit of "blergh" and the plastic has deformed around the impact site, with no discolouration. Such technology is clearly an affront to my sensabilities.

Not that I'd ever condolm dissassembling someone elses code but I'd figure Cheveron would be a good place to start. Assume its in .Net so dotPeek would make it quite easy......

Re: So who has a spare WP7.5 device?

I got libmtp-zune working well enough to delete some files, and copy a song on. Good enough for me for now - just a case of reporting bugs & testing until it's production-quality.
