Cool Android 5 tipped for Q2

I guess these estimates are usually pushed back usually, but anyways...

    Interesting, be watching this development!

I like how alot of places give ICS flak for being slow to uptake, only one device has ICS as standard and manufacturers are finally starting to roll out their ICS roms, i know even LG have said it will be out Q2 for things like the Optimus 2x, when that happens im sure that % would change to overtake GB.

After trying ICS cyanogen(CM9) hacked onto the O2x i can safely say that ICS is MUCH better than i expected (wondered what all the fuss was about), its extremely fast and the GUI has had a much needed streamlining and settings are more expanded. Cant wait to receive a fully working ICS Rom now .

It is getting a bit stupid with all the flavours of Android, however the newer rleases, seem to make it much better so they are welcome. I just wish that they can get the software on the hardware quicker.

I'm sure it will probably be announced in Q2 like iCS was last year, but I'll be surprised if it's actually released before Q4.

I wonder how much chrome will be part of it...

Slightly incorrect use of term there is only one flavor of android and that's Android.

There are a lot of versions of Android

Android itself is essentially a flavor of linux so there are bound to be frequent updates and changes as that's the nature of an open sourse OS

Why would you want a finished product regarding software? Regularly updating software is surely the best route for all concerned.

There is a huge difference between updating and offering a new version.

This may have stood true, but these days it's common place to jump version numbers with only minor updates. Just look at Firefox, Chrome and so on....it's all a numbers game.

I suspect Google are doing it to be level with the iOS version out. Because higher numbers means better, right?

Sadly stupid people are a large proportion of the market.
