ICS OTA Update on Asus Transformer

Just installed the Android 4.0 update on my TF101 and I am rather impressed so far, much more changes and improvements than I expected. Some good new features, the browser seems more responsive and it all round feels like a much more polished experience.

Oh, and typing on Hexus forums is no longer slow and painful - bonus!

Same deal here - I was really eager to get that update - and I've never regretted it. Heck, I even made the comment here yesterday that if you offered me £100 to go back to Honeycomb then I'd say no.

The browser issues really, really, really got right up my nose - and it wasn't just Hexus, and other browsers (Firefox, Dolphin, Opera) were all better.

Interestingly enough I was listening to All About Android podcast (twit.tv) and there was a comment thread on that complaining that the update had been pretty patchy - with some folks (presumably like you and I) getting a great boost, others had all kinds of problems, Wifi disconnects being the worst.

Only downside - for me at least - is that I miss airplane mode, which was dead easy to use/find on Honeycomb. Oh, and the notifications acknowledgement also kept me guessing for a while.

    Well done Asus says I.

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...
