I have been running ICS on my GS2 for about 2 weeks now and so far I can't fault it.
Vodafone have not released it here yet so I just installed the unbranded one for Poland and it's fine. all the vodafone stuff downloaded as soon as I set the phone up and it had English so I was happy.
Samsung still haven't released it for sim free phones. Joke

I can probably wait another 6 months for it to be more stable, I've tried 3 different ICS roms and they were all unstable, prone to crashes and ate battery like a battery eating.. thing.
Pretty bad experience so far, and they were supposedly final roms already released around the world.
You need to get yourself onto Sam Mobile any firmware on there released in or after March 2012 is a real official update.
Vodafone had not released it here yet so I installed the rom intended for Poland and it works flawlessly.
Not one single crash and the battery life seems considerably better than it ever was on Gingerbread.
The phone also seems quicker and more responsive.
Also if you do install ICS and are having the issues you describe you should do a factory reset on your phone as this is considered a major update and a factory reset should solve all you issues.
Sorry but if you have not done a FR and you are complaining of crashes then it's more fool you.
vodafone have set a provisional date for the 12th, fingers crossed the wait will be worth it
Guy when I go to update under > settings > it tells me 'connection failed' when trying to connect to to server.
My phone was locked to T-Mobile initially but I had it unlocked as I got a SIM on different network. Any ideas ?

Try connecting the phone to a PC via USB and Kies, thats the way I had to do it (phone is with 3).
Also noticing a lack of battery, but going to have a fiddle and see what happens. One difference with my install is that it was rooted and had an advert killer installed.
i got this ready for ICShttp://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...00_i00_details
tbh it adds about 2mm to the case, flush with the bottom so it does not look out of place![]()

I'm pretty happy with CM9...
