I bought a second hand Nexus 7 2012 for watching movies and checking email when on holiday. In that I sometimes use it for checking ebay / Facebook in bed means it gets used more than I thought it would. They're a tertiary device to me, after phone and proper desktop PC. At £100 second hand I've enough throwaway disposable income to be able to do that - not sure everyone can justify that kind of niche device.
ours gets used for:
portable iplayer/movies on flights/trains etc
music on the go
emails on holiday
web shopping/comparing prices when out shopping (for expensive items, not every time we go to the supermarket)
recipes when cooking
radio in the kitchen (if we want to use the iplayer radio for missed programmes)
soduko (deliberate typo) on the tube
e-books
checking the forecast when we're skiing/sailing etc
it's a useful gadget to have -I was cynical when she bought it but it's been great.
My 32GB fell over after the 4.4 OTA update (dead droid at boot) but a hard reset and a recovery reboot sorted that nonsense out.
Anyone else got the 4.4.2 update? I got it yesterday but not much seems to have changed...
Installed and nothing noticeable changed which is pretty normal for the x.x.y patches... apart from it may of broken my root, will have to double check :P
It did say it was bug fixes etc. Hope it'll fix the battery issue on my N4.
Weird problem here - I've got some 1080p wallpapers, which work fine. At first, anyway - after a few minutes of screen flipping use, the wallpapers is displayed in a lower resolution - anyone else seen this?
Kitkat update went smoothly on mine. Very impressed with the NFC feature.
I did get mine, loving the thing.
I also got a nice leather case from amazon and a descent anti glare screen protector from gearmaxx on ebay.
In total I spent like 40 bucks (18 for screen protector on ebay and 22 for case on amazon). Both were shipped for free and I must confess I have been enjoying the feeling of SAFE device. Not much of a secret these days with online shopping so popular, but thought to share it in any case.
Cheers
:)
