Are all Galaxy Nexus' the same?
All,
sorry for the crap title. Thinking of ditching my Sensation and getting a Galaxy Nexus, possibly a second hand one. I was just wondering, do all the firmware updates come from Google, or do the ones that are available from a carrier still need to get firmware validated etc?
I think that all Nexus' get their FW direct from Google (and thats prob my main reason for wanting it) so just want to make sure.
Cheers
JP
Re: Are all Galaxy Nexus' the same?
I believe that the firmware comes direct from Google but is still validated by the carrier to a certain extent. However if you're getting a GNex surely the way to go is rooting & putting the roms on their yourself?? :)
Re: Are all Galaxy Nexus' the same?
Yeah, to a point. I custom ROMed my Desire to death (literally) but have found my current Sensation more than sufficient without having to go custom. I'm definitely after the path of least resistance now, and am after a more vanilla experience, so maybe one direct from Google is the way to go. Might have a nosey over on XDA and see how the support for the Nexus is.
