The Samsung tab has a skip button also. So no need to register an email address.

Never registered my tab 3. Only for surfing so no need for store or samsung account. I just skip google and I think it was dismiss for samsung.

Rooted and removed all the cr#p and manually installed extra apps I actually wanted.

Never registered a samsung account on my S2 or S3 either

    Re: Android tablets and privacy???

Unfortunately Google's approach to user privacy is a lot more invasive than other large corporations such as Apple. The only way around this would be to not sign into a google account on Android. Though this removes access to vital components such as the play store.
