Nexus 4 strange number in memory?

So, a bit of a strange one I can't seem to figure out, even with the help of searching the web.

I recently purchased and received a Nexus 4 and noticed a number I don't recognise on my contacts when I'm on the phone app, although it doesn't show up in my actual contact list, and I can't figure out any way of removing it.

The name is a seemingly random string of symbols, and I phoned the number and found it's a private number owned by a gentleman in Chester. He said he was as confused as I was, it is not a business or anything, so how on Earth did his number end up on my phone, and why can't I remove it?

Typical, but I found a solution right after posting this, despite searching for a while beforehand. Still, I'll leave the post as it is in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

I found this thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/gen...tact-help.html suggesting to log in via Gmail and remove the contact. It did work, and seemed to be associated with an app developer I'd contacted via email. I'm not sure the number ended up on there, or even if they belong to the same person?

Not sure if I should send a quick text to the guy explaining what might have happened? Don't really want to keep bothering someone needlessly, but I'd want to know if my number was being spread accidentally?

I would let him know that that's what's happening. He might then want to remove his phone number from his Google profile...

You could start with: 'Hi, I'm the weirdo that called you earlier...'

Yeah I've just sent him a text explaining the situation, and reassuring him I'll now remove any trace I have of his number.
