what nexus 7 apps do people recommend?

freebies obviously preferred, but need to get a few things loaded:

    decent office package
    pdf viewer
    maybe AV
    video player

    etc

what do people use/would recommend for this?

For a video player I'd recommend Dice Player. Plays most formats, has no trouble connecting to lan shares and is free.

I recommend MX Player to play all kinds of media. For a PDF viewer and decent office package you should try Kingsoft Office, its great. Other useful apps:

    CamScanner
    Dropbox
    Evernote
    Equalizer
MightyText (if you have an android smartphone)
    Night Mode
    Photoshop Touch
    Skype
Torque (if you want to interface with your car - all you need is an adapter you can get for cheap from ebay)
    uTorrent

Nexus Media Importer - get an OTG cable too...
Air Droid - some apps are phone-only. WIth this, you can grab the apk file off your phone and install it on your Nexus. Things like Amazon UK will say your hardware is not compatible, but you can install it this way.
ScummVM - Allows you to install old PC games, like Day of The Tentacle, etc. Providing you have the original disks, of course...

Re: what nexus 7 apps do people recommend?

EDIT: Ooops didnt see it was for a Nexus - Doh. I'd still recomend Those apps though, and if they have been tabletised, then even more so...

If like me you frequent quite a few forums, then Tapatalk is a must. Nice consistent interface, and great access to forums when on the go. A decent tech and games aggregator (ie. Pulls stories from many sources) is Appy Geek and Appy Gamer. Worth checking out. If you are a Premier League football fan then ESPN goals gives video highlights pretty soon after all the Saturday games.

I use a surprising small core of apps....

Re: what nexus 7 apps do people recommend?

it's been a month now, and so far it's mainly been email, kindle and iplayer that have clocked up the bandwidth miles.... if only there was an app for "give me a seat on this sardine commute" i might get chance to try more...
