GPS Geotagging / logging telemetry with high sample-rate. How?

I'm thinking of getting a sports video camera, something like a Gopro or Sony thingy. But none seem to have GPS tracking built-in.

As I'd like to link that to videos in post, I'd need a device capable of logging the data and then syncing them up in post and using some software to superimpose the telemetry data on the video.

My old GPS only takes a sample every second or two, so not particularly accurate. I appreciate GPS isn't down to the cm in accuracy, but are there devices that log data at a higher sample rate? Maybe there's a device that combines this with accelerometers for more precision?

Anyone done this in the car / bike / other sport ? What do you use?

If it was me, id use a GPS logger on my my phone.

Just found one on the Android Play store, "GPS Logger for Android" and although it recommends logging ever 1-3 seconds, it can be set to "0" but the notes say this:
Although the app allows 0 second frequencies, it is not recommended as the recording and logging is happening very fast; this could cause instability/hangs. Try 1-3 seconds instead.
That was just the first one I looked at though, there will be loads.

Yeah, I did consider that, but my poor, ageing BB Bold is struggling to log even at 1 second. I think I'd need a more recent phone / proper GPS unit to manage the higher sampling rate.

In the end, I bought a Qstarz BT-Q1000EX 10Hz which, as it's name suggests, records 10 positions per second. Not the cheapest of gadgets, but ticks all the boxes
