    Nexus 4 Owners:

I've taken the plunge and bought an N4, just got a few questions:

    1) What's the best case/screen protector to go for?
    2) I've taken the temporary screen protector off the front, is there one on the back? There seems to be some kind of clear plastic barrier thing there, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to come off. The IMEI sticker is on top of it so I guess no...
    3) What's the best battery saver to go for? I used to use Juice Defender on my Sensation, but I've heard things about it not working on the N4...

    Any answers much appreciated.

    Re: Nexus 4 Owners:

check out the meifeng cases on ebay, i use one of them.

i think the n4 only works with one of the wireless chargers, so be careful which kit you buy.

    Re: Nexus 4 Owners:

Bestskinever is the best screen protector I've used for my N4 (had to buy from the US but it's really good).

Yes there is a removable protective film on the back of the phone (at least there was on mine).

Battery Guru by Qualcomm worked well for me till I started using custom kernels (Franco kernel).

As for wireless chargers as long as it adheres to the Qi standard then it should work. I use Maxell ones and for anyone interested will be selling one in a couple days so look out in the classified section . Nokia ones also work but they tend to be more expensive and the genuine Nexus Orbs??? used to be rare as rocking horse poop but not sure if thats still case. Either way wireless charging is something I use everyday and will miss when my HTC One arrives tomorrow. Wireless charging is not gimmick feature and genuinely useful.

    Re: Nexus 4 Owners:

As is typical of this place, I've asked for opinions, then gone off and got completely different stuff. I got the Poetic bumper guard thing, which seems quite sturdy, and I've ordered an Expert Shield front and back protector thingy.

Impressively, the lady from Expert Shield e-mailed me to ask how it was, and to let her know if I had any problems. The package hasn't arrived yet so I couldn't tell her, but it's nice that they're so on the ball with their CS. Although it could be that no-one's ever ordered before, and I'm their guinea pig...

I also have a Poetic bumper and it's not too bad, cheaper than a genuine one anyway, only difference really is the button quality.

Yep i got it today using the framework trick, it worked 1st time on my nexus 4 and i think about it took about 6 or 7 goes on my nexus 7 so you just need to keep doing it till you get it.

    Re: Nexus 4 Owners:

In the same boat, personally I'm gonna wait till my custom rom (AOKP) gets updated to 4.3. Current version is quick enough and there's nothing in 4.3 I need right now.

    Re: Nexus 4 Owners:

I've had it about 2 months now & like the phone, but have a few niggles with it. I don't like that the lock screen can't be customised - on my rooted JB4.2.2 rom on my old Desire HD I could add apps to the unlock wheel, I've found no option for this on the N4. Also, it really irks me that when I go to turn wireless or mobile data on/off via the notification bar it takes me to another page to do it, rather than toggling direct from the menu.

Er that's cos you're running pure Google android not a custom ROM. Just backup, unlock the bootloader and install a new ROM such as CM10 or AOKP. Then you'll have the features you're looking for and much more. Simples!

theres a widget that does it better than the notification bar anyway.
