    P800 / P900 help

Please can someone else with either of these mobile help me.

When I add the Synchstation to my PC I can now longer install the drivers for this device so I can access my files and contacts i.e to synchronise files and calendar which is most important.

Has anyone here with the P800/900 got their synchstation running with windows XP SP2 or do I have to revert back to windows XP with no SP packs which should work with the synchstation fine ?

I would ask SE but they are as much use as a chocolate fireguard

I've got a sync station installed on my comp right now and i'm running xp sp2, it's a DSS20 if it makes any difference though i'm using it with a K700i but i'm pretty sure it should work all the same.

Yeah thats the one I have mate.

Whats doing my head in is that I have tried EVERY driver on the sun and varying versions to get this synchstation (DSS20) working with any of my phones.

Ah well - good job I have bluetooth, one day I will get this working

If it's anything like the stupid Nokia PC Suite, you need to install the drivers before installing the synchronisation software. It always seemed a bit hit-or-miss whatever you did though.

Well I installed it the other way round, plugged the sync station in and waited for the new hardware found box to pop up. I'd try searching for the driver files and removing them from wherever windows copies them to for it to keep, and try plugging it in and then install the drivers. Worth a shot I suppose.
According to the driver properties the drivers are in :

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ftdibus.sys
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ftdiun2k.sys
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ftdiunin.exe

Looks like that last file is an uninstaller, so i'd try that.

edit/ Just noticed theres the unistaller under add/remove progs.

    thanks for all the info.

Dunno what happened but when I got back from work last night, the system had automatically installed the drivers and the docking station was working. Either the system fairies have been out again or a white hacker hacked my PC and fixed it remotely

    Thanks for all the advice

Glad you got it working, but just while were on the subject do you have to reserve the com port in mobile phone monitor to get it to detect the phone ?
Just wondering because I have to play with this to get mpm to pop up when I connect the phone but once its detected I can unreserve the com port and its fine, wouldn't mind leaving it reserved but I can't use fma then.
Just wondering if im missing anything.

I'm running ok with my P900 and SP2. Make sure you have the very latest version of PCSuite as I've noticed some improvements over the previous version

    @jasrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishy
You'll have to contact Sony Ericsson and ask them for the nearest repair centre to where you are.
