Know good quality Micro USB lead

I went through several replacement leads before finding one that charged my phone and transferred data at the full rate. Now that good one has become loose in the phone after 2 years. I've been looking on Amazon and many, even branded and Amazon basics £5 one have some bad reviews saying this is not a quality cable etc. Is there a reliable, not expensive source for these?

Yeah, surprisingly hard to find something some simple isn't it!

Maybe something like this, next time you make a Scan order? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1m-ak...obiles-cameras

Can't make any promises though. I was going to suggest Amazon Basics before you mentioned it, and maybe Startech, but both have some negative reviews.

Let us know if you have any luck though, it might even be worth sticky-ing this thread!

I bought these off eBay a while back since they were cheap and I thought, "what could possibly go wrong?" I use them on my phone, mouse, USB 3.0 external drive (albeit at lower speeds) and haven't had any problems for probably over a year now.

All OK then I assume? No random errors when transferring data, slightest knock causing disconnects, epic slow charging?

I might grab a few with my next order, and possibly 'take one for the team' and dissect one.

It's frustrating how the market is flooded with utter rubbish with hair-thin conductors, rubbish connectors etc. I've had my fair share of problems with them in the past, even poor internal PC power cables have caused HDDs to appear to be failing, etc. You just don't know what you're buying.

My experience with stuff from Scan has been OK as far as I can remember though. TBH some Startech and Amazon Basics stuff I own seems fine too, but it's still best to check reviews I suppose.

That one is only 1mtr though. I want one a bit longer than the one that come with the phone, 1.5 to 2 mtr. I should have said that in the first post but I was trying to be quick!

The only one on scan is unbranded! http://www.scan.co.uk/products/18m-s...ameras-psp-pda
