How do you choose a Contract?

I'm wondering how you guys go about choosing a contract?, is it to get a new phone or get a specific number of free minutes or texts a month?.

I'd be interested to know what the general motivator is.

    Cheers

In my case, it was a combination of the phone I wanted for free, plus talktime. I got a load of texts as well, though.

I usually select the phone I want and then see what network operators sell it.

Then I'll see which of them has the best deal over 12 months (price of phone + cost of contract over the minimum contract period). I don't really have any operator loyality, I'll go with whichever one offers the best deal. Generally I want a mix of anytime, any network minutes and texts.

On my first contract, the phone was the main priority, though, after getting a year's worth of £100 a month phone bills, it soon became free minutes and texts!

So generally I look for the tarrif first! If I really want a particular phone, I will pay a little extra for the phone as well....
