    Multimedia/text total

Just recived a Nokia 6600 and just changed back to PAYG as I wasnt making much use of the contract.

Now I'm not able to send pics to people and I've tried changing settings etc and even the downloading the o2 settings, and still nothing.

Also any way of checking how many txt I have used since last toppin up etc, either via the phone or o2?

Dont fancy phoning the helpline as it's £1 a min or whatever.

Ok, you need to change the settings as the settings on there are different for contract and PAYG portals. This is because it actually uses gprs/gsm to send the picture messages. Can you check that you have o2 mms, o2 wap gprs, o2 wap gsm.

I wouldn't bother to be honest. O2 is a crap payg system for multimedia messaging. basically you have to SEND and READ the MMS messages through the portal called 02 ACTIVE.

Now - This portal is more flakier than dandruffees convention in a blizzard ( yes - that flakey ). You connect to the active and try to read the MMS you have just got the text alert for and all you see is a bunch of red x's with no images half the time. While you wait for this too load, the charges are cranking up as well don't forget unless you have free WAP but even with this free WAP 300 mins, 1/2 the time the portal is unresponsive, unuseable and a PITA to send media to friends and family.

I HAVE emailed O2 regarding this and I get the usual quality cut and paste jobs you expect from a call centre a few 1000 miles away and they always blame the equipment, i.e handsets ( I use 3 different ones - all setup using their OTA configurator )

If you we're looking for PAYG for MMS then I would choose a more friendlier supplier who allows MMS to be send phone to phone rather than through a poxy proxy system renamed as Active.

I'll go and find a dark corner now... either that or nip and get an orange PAYG sim
