    Question EMS Messaging problem...

I'm trying to send a small gif (40x30, 256col) and a small text together to test a mate's Motorola C350 phone which (supposedly) supports EMS messaging. My phone is a SE T610 and I use the standard picture message format with added text...

However, when its sent to the C350 it simply says something like "You have received a picture message, please go to www.virgin.co.uk etc to view it". The pic is smaller than the C350's screen and the filesize is only 2.2Kb, so by my limited estimation its within the bounds of simple EMS and therefore should go straight thru to the phone. There's an option for SMS Type on the T610, but none of the options are applicable....

Motorola says this about the C350:
    EMS 5.0
    SMS Chat one-to-one
    Mobile Concatenation
    Quick Messages: 10 user-definable
    Group SMS

Am I correct in assuming that EMS should be delivered, pic and all, to the phone in one go? And if so, what can I do to make my messages conform?

I had the same problem with SMSs on my Nokia 6100. I *think* that it's down to network rather than the phone itself.

The problem is that the specs for EMS/MMS are so vague that it means that each operator has their own implimentation. It's a total mess.
